Technology Transfer: STI Teams up with HUAWEI

STI’s President Monico V. Jacob was joined by Huawei Philippines’ Chief Executive Officer Gao Kexin in a formal signing event on March 25, 2015 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The partnership is another milestone in STI’s efforts to continuously improve the quality of education it provides.
The agreement will focus on the following areas:
1. Creation of a STI-Huawei Innovation Center for new ICT systems, applications and products
2. Knowledge sharing and cooperation in curriculum and courseware development
3. Provision of Huawei equipment and devices for use in STI classroom and laboratories
4. Company certifications and accreditation
5. Research and technology incubation
6. Faculty Training
7. Internship / On-the-job training
8. Job Fair / Other School activities
9. Job Placement / employment
“Huawei Enterprise BG is working with its partners to bring world class ICT products and solutions to the educational the sector. This cooperation will also serve as a venue for us to share with the Philippine enterprise market how our products and services can benefit them and be an enabler of business growth,” says Mr. Gao Kexin, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Philippines
Optimistic about the future of ICT education, STI President Monico V. Jacob shares in a statement, “this cooperation agreement will bring new opportunities for learning to STI students and give them the right tools that will prepare them for a successful job in the ICT sector. Hands-on education is part of our students’ holistic training for the industries they will work for and it is especially advantageous for our ICT students to experience this with a world-wide company as Huawei.”
